Coloring books have become incredibly popular, especially among adults looking for a relaxing and creative way to unwind.

One of my favorite types of coloring books is quote coloring books.

The demand for this type is very high, and they can be a great source of income if you know how to create and sell them.

In this piece, I’ll dive into the process of creating your this type of coloring book using Canva and selling it on Amazon KDP.

1. Market Research: Finding Your Niche

Before diving into the creative process, it’s essential to research the market and identify a niche for your coloring book.

Amazon is a great place to start your research.

Search for “quote coloring books” and take note of the top-selling titles and their themes.

Consider the following factors during your research:

  • Number of Pages: Analyze the number of pages in the best-selling books to determine the ideal length for your book.
  • Book Size: Pay attention to the book’s dimensions, such as 8.5 by 11 inches, to match the market standards.
  • Content: Review the content inside these books, including the types of quotes used and any additional features like motivational quotes or blank pages.
  • Customer Reviews: Read positive and negative customer reviews to understand what readers like and dislike about existing books.

You’ll gain valuable insights into what makes a successful quote coloring book by conducting thorough market research.

2. Setting Up Your Canva Workspace

You’ll need a design tool like Canva to create your coloring book. Sign up for a Canva account if you don’t already have one, and follow these steps:

  • Click on “Custom dimensions” in Canva and set the dimensions to 8.5 by 11 inches.
  • Upload a template that matches these dimensions to ensure your design fits perfectly within the book’s pages.
