Many marketing disasters have existed; some are well-known, and others are more mysterious.
Some of the most well-known marketing disasters include the Exxon Valdez oil spill, which caused large amounts of damage to marine life, and the Volkswagen emissions scandal, which caused the company to lose a lot of money.
More obscure marketing disasters include the Coca-Cola China crisis, which caused Coca-Cola to lose money in China. In the early 1990s, Kellogg’s Corn Flakes cereal was involved in a major disaster. The grain was recalled after reports of people getting sick from eating it. The recall left many people angry and disappointed.
