The recent announcement by TeePublic regarding their new tiers and fees has caused quite a stir among artists and designers. If you are a print-on-demand seller, you have all the right to be concerned about these changes. Let’s find out how they will impact your earnings impact the platform’s functionality.

I will dive into TeePublic’s new policy and compare it to Redbubble’s recent announcement of its new tier system.

Last night (May 5th), TeePublic emailed their sellers and informed them that they are implementing a fixed fee for each sale artists make. As an excuse, they claimed that this fee would help offset the cost of running the platform and is similar to what Redbubble has recently announced.

However, TeePublic has taken a more nuanced approach to this change. They will be classifying accounts into two tiers:

  • The Artisan tier
  • The Apprentice tier.

Unlike Redbubble’s announcement, this classification process is not based on sales but on the quality of the designs uploaded.
