How To Make An Engaging Speech That Captures Your Audience’s Imagination
The most important step in crafting a good pitch is the first two minutes. The first phase of your speech or pitch is enough to determine whether you gain or lose your audience.
Unfortunately, if you do not get this right from the beginning, it becomes really hard to engage the audience later on.
Make an effort to be imaginative and to set the scene right away. Begin by capturing the attention of your audience. Consider taking your pitch a step further and evoking appropriate emotional responses from your audience.
- If necessary, utilize a brief anecdote, soft background music, or a demonstration of how your product can be used to accomplish this.
- Select stories that are relatable and intended to elicit emotional responses.
Throughout the speech, aim to maintain your authenticity. Remember your main goal should be to create a positive relationship with your audience.
