One of the main ways I make passive income is selling stock photography and stock footage on Shutterstock.

I have previous shared my favorite strategies on using Shutterstock to sell stock media.

Shutterstock has been making a few updates the last few months and this one update is one of the biggest yet.

The changes in Shutterstock’s terms of service present exciting opportunities for both contributors and users of the platform. The good news is that it aim to benefit everyone involved ;)

Lower Minimum Payout Threshold

One of the most significant changes in the new terms of service is the reduction of the minimum payout threshold.

  • Previously set at $35, contributors had to accumulate $35 in sales before requesting a payout.

With the point lowered to $25, even beginners can reach their first payout sooner. This change is expected to encourage new contributors to participate in the marketplace and make monetizing their creative work easier.
